Born in India, Shirsha has always been surrounded by, and had a passion for music. Pursuing her dream of working in Bollywood, she recorded vocals with Shankar Mahadevan and performed with UK star Ash King in a national vocal competition.
She sang in a collaboration project led by Grammy award-winning pianist Laura Sullivan and is currently building up her active YouTube channel which has over 300,000 views. Most recently, she has finished her first year in the music degree program at Humber, receiving the Yamaha Canada Music Ltd. Scholarship for Outstanding Achievement.
Aidan Farrell is a contemporary jazz, and R&B vocalist and singer song-writer based in Toronto Ontario. She most recently completed her third year at Humber College in the Bachelor of Music Program majoring in voice. This past year, Aidan was part of the Senior Jazz choir at Humber College, and is currently part of the Humber College Jazz in the Schools touring ensemble. Involved in multiple varying music projects in the past and presently, Aidan is always excited to explore new genres, as well as vocal and compositional avenues. She is thrilled to be a part of The Harmony Collaboration’s Workshop program, and to work with a group of such gifted musicians!
A graduate of Humber College with a Bachelor of Music degree, Danny resides in Toronto and spends his time teaching piano and voice lessons. After graduating he formed Accent, a 6-part vocal jazz ensemble with members living in 5 different countries. He enjoys performing, adjudicating, and giving workshops around the world at various music festivals and conventions.
Danny records instructive a cappella tracks for ensembles, arranges a cappella music and produces vocal jazz music for his YouTube channel.
Dani Garcia is a Canadian singer, songwriter and teacher who is passionate about performing, and building confidence in her students through music. She is a graduate of the Bachelor of Music program at Humber College as well as the musical theatre program at Etobicoke School of the Arts.
She teaches voice, piano and guitar and has led youth vocal ensembles in local and international projects and has performed all around the GTA at events such Expressions of Brazil at Harbourfront Centre.
She is very excited to be a part of the Harmony Collaboration workshop!
Originally from Southern California, Gilad Gratch has lived in Ontario since 2006, and just completed his third year in the Bachelor of Music program at Humber College. He performs in a variety of genres, from rock to jazz to classical to musical theatre. His roles have included Prince Dauntless in Mary Rodgers’ Once Upon a Mattress and Miles Gloriosus in Stephen Sondheim’s A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum.
He is really excited to be performing with The Harmony Collaboration!
Nathan Martin is a vocalist from Goderich Ontario, currently studying music at Humber College. After years of performing high level choral music, Nathan found a love for jazz and improvisational music. Nathan is currently a vocalist for the Toronto All Star Big Band, performing live swing era tunes all across Ontario in various venues.
Best known as bandleader of alternative folk group Mara & The Marigold, Mara Nesrallah is an active member of Canada's creative music community. She can be found performing with and composing for numerous new music ensembles including We Are All large ensemble, decoration day, The Band Named Crow, Sonuskapos Jazz Orchestra, and Christine Duncan's The Element Choir. Recently, she has made her foray in to conducting as co-conductor of the Concord Vocal Ensemble and children's choir conductor of David Occhipinti's Cookie Choir. She is thrilled to continue her work with the Harmony Collaboration.
Born and raised in Ottawa, Mara Nesrallah initially focused on RCM classical piano, but her love of composition and singing led her to Humber College’s Bachelor of Contemporary Music program. She was awarded The President’s Medal upon graduation in 2014. Within the following year, she participated in the Banff International Workshop in Creative and Jazz Music and was Vocal Faculty for a semester at the Global Music Institute in New Delhi, India.
Aside from performance, Mara can be found sharing her love of music with her 40 piano and voice students at the Michael Johnston Music Studio and her own private studio.
For nine years, Elena has performed with many calypso and jazz artist in the country of her birth, Trinidad and Tobago. She has won many awards for her musical excellence and performs with the Toronto-based Brazilian group Samba Squad for corporate events and street-festivals throughout the year.
Presently, Elena lives in Toronto where she has completed her third year in the Humber College Music program. In 2017, she plans to produce an EP that reflects the richness of her cultural background with the sophistication of jazz drawing inspiration from artists such as Esperanza Spalding and Stevie Wonder.
Emily Rockarts is a Toronto based singer-songwriter and musician. She has just returned from a successful tour of Western Canada and is now in the process of recording her first full-length album. She is thrilled to be a part of the Harmony Collaboration.
Galen Sedlak is a musician and vocalist based in Toronto. Having recently completed his Bachelor’s Degree in Music at Humber College, Galen is exploring his profession as a musician. He is a private vocal teacher, performer, and songwriter and is looking to branch out into the world of audio production and recorded sound. Galen has a versatile voice, ranging anywhere from contemporary jazz to alternative or pop/rock, and during his time at Humber has arranged music for a small ensemble in jazz, RnB, and pop. He has also performed in musical groups from vocal jazz choirs and large Latin ensembles to a smaller Pop/ RnB setting. Galen looks forward to continuing to explore writing and recording his own work, as well as collaborating with other artists to create and realize their own vision.
Jeremy is a singer-songwriter, recording artist, private lesson teacher and music director in the Greater Toronto Area. As a performer, you can catch him regularly captivating audiences at venues across the GTA showcasing everything from his own singer-songwriter material to the greatest party hits this side of the 70’s.
Jeremy has spent most of his life refining the craft of performance, having most recently received a Bachelor of Music from the highly acclaimed Humber College in Toronto.
Jeremy is of First Nations descent and is proud to be a partner on this incredible project.
